ARRESTED

Mandan, N.D. – Today, a man wanted on felony warrants for reckless endangerment, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, reckless driving and felonious restraint turned himself in to the Morton County Sheriff’s Department.

Additionally, law enforcement arrested two protestors on January 9 at approximately 1:30pm for trespassing near Turtle Hill. The individuals were from Texas and Virginia.

James White of Cannon Ball was one of the individuals who surrounded the vehicle of journalists on October 18, 2016, and knowingly restrained the journalists under terrorizing circumstances. He is also charged with reckless endangerment, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer and reckless driving in relation to an October 14th, 2016 incident when law enforcement witnessed White drive a pick-up recklessly and at a high rate of speed into the ditch with unrestrained occupants in the pick-up bed. The vehicle then passed the patrol vehicle and drove back onto the roadway, blocking the deputy’s vehicle. Highway Patrol troopers attempted to stop the vehicle driven by White, but when he refused to stop, troopers ended the high-speed pursuit for safety reasons.

Law enforcement has made 585 arrests during protest activity since August 10.
